The Spider-Man Soundtrack: Great Music Inspired by the Hit Film
Music lovers and Spider-Man fans will love the Spider-Man soundtrack. At this point in time, there are actually two different soundtrack choices -- one for each film. There is a third Spider-Man movie due to be released in 2007, and it is sure to be accompanied by a great soundtrack as well. Like the movies themselves, the collection of songs are dynamic, hip and interesting. Let's take a look at what you can expect if you purchase one of these CDs.
The soundtrack for the first Spider-Man movie features 19 different pieces of music from a wide variety of artists. Classical compositions include the Theme from Spider-Man, Main Titles and Farewell. Then there's the rock songs. Nickelback fans will love Hero by frontman Chad Kroeger, while progressive punk fans will certainly enjoy the selections from Sum 41 and Alien Ant Farm. The Strokes, The Hives, Pete Yorn and Jerry Cantrell also make appearances. Rounding out the variety on the first soundtrack you'll find Macy Gray, Bleu, Default, Corey Taylor and even Aerosmith.
The second film soundtrack is a bit different than the first. If anything, it features more obscure bands and a bit more tortured rock. Dashboard Confessional starts things off with Vindicated, followed by Ordinary by Train. Hoobastank and Jet are next, then Yellowcard and Maroon 5. There are a few artists that most people probably haven't heard of, including Taking Back Sunday, Midtown, Smile Empty Soul and Jimmy Gnecco. The Ataris and Ana also make an appearance on this moody, modern music collection. There are also two pieces by master composer Danny Elfman.
Either one of these soundtracks would make a fantastic gift for any Spider-Man enthusiast or rock music fan. Even if you're not necessarily a fan of the artists on the CDs, they're certainly worth a listen. You just might find a new favorite band, or at the least some new songs that you enjoy. Around May of 2007, don't miss the third addition to the Spider-Man soundtrack family. While it's hard to tell what the third CD will feature, it's likely it will be as popular and diverse as its predecessors.
