In the meantime, Peter gets involved in a budding romance with Mary Jane Watson, the girl next door. At first, Peter just wants to use his spider powers for fame and wealth. But after his uncle is killed by a carjacker, he vows to bring the killer to justice and use his powers for crime fighting. This is partly due to what his uncle told him prior to his murder -- 'with great power comes great responsibility.' The Spider-Man story has been an enthralling one since it made it's comic book debut in the early 1960's.
